Sony’s latest firmware update (version 7.00) for the FX3 and FX30 has brought a major enhancement for cinematographers: in-camera desqueeze for anamorphic lenses. This means you can now shoot with your 1.33X, 1.5X, and 2X Blazar anamorphic lenses and see the corrected image directly on your monitor or viewfinder, making framing, focus, and composition much easier on set.

Previously, Sony cameras required external monitors or the use of the Monitor & Control App to properly preview your image when using 1.5X anamorphic lenses such as the Blazar Remus and Remus-M. With the latest firmware, you can see your composition exactly as it will appear, saving time and reducing guesswork on set.
